What guarantees are provided by the official eco-labels?
In practice, only eco-labels can provide guarantees such as:
- user quality of products or services. Products or services awarded an eco-label must conform with the requirements governing user quality and fitness for use;
- reduction of the environmental impacts of the products or services. This is achieved by factoring in the environmental impacts during the products' or services' entire life cycle, based on a multi-stage and multi-criteria approach.
